About

Welcome to my blog about life: life before marriage, life during marriage, life after marriage and everything in between. I was married…actually I still am (but that’s a different story for a different time) and am now living wonderfully, happily, and independently in the world of hindsight…and we all know that hindsight has PERFECT vision!  Man oh man, if I knew THEN what I know NOW, life would be different.  Maybe not necessarily better, because I love my life and the transformational journey I have embarked upon, just different.

Contrary to how the title of the blog may sound, this is not an anti-marriage blog.  I have never seen the actual movie, so I cannot guarantee it will not parallel some of what takes in the movie. If that happens, it’s purely coincidental!.  It is simply me sharing my story, life experience and lessons learned for others to hopefully learn from as well.  In the past few months a number of people (old friends, family, co-workers, and friends of friends) have contacted me asking for advice on what to do regarding divorce, my opinion on the “best way” to go about a task, or simply wanting to talk about what they are going through with marriage, children, and finances.

It really amazes me that in the midst of my storm, I can help others through their storm as well.  What also amazed me is the amount of knowledge I had acquired along the way.  While talking to people I had to stop and say (to myself),”wow, Krischa, you know your stuff!!”  Living is the best teacher.  Continue to read so that you can learn, discover, and think critically about decisions in your life.  While you do that, I will attempt to answer the question: why did I get married…

Dear Krischa, I love your website, and have started a similar one which highlights the enlightening process that can happen if we all stay open to the lessons that “divorce” can provide for us. I appreciate the obvious honesty with which you write about your experience and how helpful your words must be to anyone at any stage of their divorce journey. Please take a look at my website http://www.theDword.net . I would love to include a link to yours on the D word. You write beautifully!
